exterior color
i'm having trouble deciding which color protege i want to get, i can't chose between black or green, i like the black because of the grey interior but my dad said that black cars show the scratches from washing etc. more easilly than other colors, so my other choice is green, it's my favorite color but i'm not too crazy on the tan interior, any suggestions?

i can vouch for the black showing scratches etc. it's a bitch to keep looking nice.
the dark green would be a *bit* better i guess.....
if you're willing to do the work to keep the black looking good, it pays off. i think it's showier.
i (and my family) always say "i won't get black this time", but we always do. the last 4 cars (3 they bought and my p5) have been black.

salt during the winter months is a bitch on black cars because it shows so much....
other than that, I think that a black car would be the wiser choice, since it's more flashy and tinting the windows would make it even better

black cars are like driving around in a mirror....you work your *** off and get them spotless clean....drive around the block..and you can see frickin dirt on them already....
I have a black P-5...well its my wifes...mine is Yellow.....but when its clean...it looks NICE.....but it looks dirty a lot more than it looks clean.

Mine is emerald mica, and it is a bitch to keep clean, but the scratches donīt show as much on that color as they do on black (my dadīs car is black and he just can not keep if from looking like **** from all the little scratches from the dust and dirt on it).
If itīs black (or a very dark color) you have to be very careful when cleaning it, because the simple act of passing a cloth over it will drag the dust and leave those circular micro scratches on the paint over time.
You have to use something like the California Car Duster religiously, or it will end up looking like you used fine grain sandpaper on it after a year or two.
If color is not THAT big of a deal, just get something like Sand Mica, or Sandalwood Metalic... youīll probably never have to worry about those color looking dirty.
That is odd... mine is emerald mica with grey interior. Do they not sell that combination in the States?

Go Blue!
We bought our Laser Blue P5 just last month and it looks very cool. It's a new for 2003 color for the P5 and it came with the black leather interior (only color choice on P5s).
Something to think about, it's true it's more difficult to keep a black car clean (we have a black 2001 Acura MDX with chrome rims), but when it is clean, it's the sharpest/classiest looking color for almost any car. Also, if the green only comes in a beige interior, over time, a beige interior will look dirtier than a black/darker interior.
Anyways, regardless of color, you'll enjoy your Protege! It's a good balance between reliability/sportiness/price.
