your ignorant comments about being used for autocross is baseless... SCCA/NASA does NOT require a roll cage or roll bar for solo2 if you have a HARD TOP car

yeah so what if they dont require a roll bar ... i choose to put it on. so basically what your saying is whatever part someone puts on thier car, that is for show and also autocross and that is not required in SCCA/NASA like maybe a sway bar, crossmember and all that, is basically ricey. b/c none of them are required for autocross ?

well n e ways people i will post pics once i get it back from getting developed and put on CD... did have a digi cam but it broke on me so gotta do it the classic way.will get pics up before friday. sorry for the delay ....

Pic from AWR's Laguna Seca P5 pace car:

Since they used it in the pace car it must meet some kind of safety specs.

Like I said before .. do Solo 1 and then people will stop calling "rice" on it There is no point for autocross unless you need to claim negative points in STS .. does SCCA even have that rule?

that is the DG motorsports Carbon Cage. I don't think that it is sanctioned because I don't think that DG payed to have it tested. Who cares if it isn't completely functional. Meaning using it in a race for rollover protection. It still has some functionality to it by reinforcing the chassis making it stiffer and possibly by connecting harnesses to it(not sure of the postion so don't know if that is safe or not. But I do agree that the cage is at least 50% show. Hell most of the stuff that goes on our cars is show. not saying rice but saying show. I mean how many people are seriuosly worried about how much difference a CF hood is going to make to their car. No they want the look and the weight savings is just a side benefit. Smae here. He wanted the race look and the stiffness it offers is just a side benefit. You guys really need to chill with all the rice crap. Haven't we learned yet that calling rice on any topic starts wars and ends up with threads that have pages of crap in them in stead of helpful info. Just trying to help out here. Get over it and move on!

It's a nice bar, but I really don't see the need for it , If you seriousle road race ( meaning { your car does not see street duty}) then I can understand... but for a street car that occasionally autocrosses, and is daily driven. It would be just better for you to install braces,..
Ofcourse this is just my opinon , I don't know how much people would agree with me {shrug}

Well incase y'all didn't know, Danny did this to his car. The kit to make your car like KIT
He was testing it on that first before he put it in his Pro. He's a smart and handy guy.
