FUSION System Complete
Just wanted to let everyone know that I finally finished my system this weekend. Everything sounds real good.
The 6.5 " components in the front required a decent amount of mods to make it fit good. The Schoce adapters I bought were useless. I had to shave some metal, drill new holes, but it finally fit. Another problem I ran into was that the tweeters didn't fit in the stock tweeter position (i have a 2002.5), so I simply cut a hole in the factory speaker grill and placed them there. From what I know, I think 3-4 inches away from the mid is the ideal position for the tweeter.
The 6.5" three ways fit in the rear, even though they had a depth of 2.5", however, I had to drill new holes again (I don't know what kind of pattern Mazda follows). I was surprised at how clear and deep these speakers sound.
The FUSION Distributor Bock was def. interesting, didn't look like anything else I had seen before, but it works well. Both amps went under the driver and passenger seat. The FUSION wiring seems to work well.
I am still using my old (2) Rockford Punch 10" subs for the moment. In a month or so I am going to install 2 12" Fusion JL subs.
For now, I am using the stock HU. It actually sounds real good. I made sure to get good quality LOC. I might actually keep the stock HU for a while, since I like the stock look and don't have to worry about anyone stealing it. Maybe I will wait till FUSION comes out with a decent HU.
I will post pics up soon once my car is cleaned up! I still have wiring, etc, all over the place.
Thanks for everyone's help and advice.
