Help me pick a radio for my '02 BJ. :D

The other day my iPod cassette adapter broke. I bought a new one and hooked it up and it sounded like swill. Now I've been wondering if it had always sounded like crap since before that I used an FM transmitter.

Now I'm considering a radio but there are SO many choices (and I'm a car audio n00b) that I'm not sure what I want. iPod control integration is pretty important to me as is future expansion for Satellite radio (Sirius).

Other than those, what sort of features are out there? I feel like a kid in a candy store except the stereo places I've gone into so far are all pretty pushy. I also don't like the idea of having a big hole in on my console with a radio that takes up half the height but aside from getting a DVD player or Navigation I'm all ¯\(º_O)/¯ about the extra space.

Any selections? Love your aftermarket radio? Tell me about them.

how much are you looking to spend...you could go for a nice double din dvd unit for around a grand or you can to with a panasonic i like them and they have many models that can integrate ipod and sattelite radio...if im not mistaken they have a unit for under $150 that has 1/8or1/4 (i cant remember witch size ) pin jack(ipod will work in that) and also sattelite radio ready....you have to but the sattelite radio tuner box but its plug and play app.i know my way around the audio world im mecp certified and ive been doing this for 5yrs now so... if you have any more Q's feel free to pm me i answer those alot quicker...

I have an Alpine and it works great with my ipod nano. You control the ipod with the HU and it charges the ipod battery.
