HID in Protege 5

Hi all,
Does anybody install H.I.D. in the pro5? Is it worth to spend $500-$600 for that?

Personally....I don't think so....but then its a personal choice. YOU are the one that has to make the decision to lay out that much green for lighting....

with me...its not....I think the lighting is wonderful....maybe that is because of what I was use to before.....I run with my fog lights on all the time....I figure the more lights on the front the better....not that they make that big a difference....but I can see wonderfully at night.....

HOWEVER....if you decide to do that conversion....and have someone do it...make damn sure they change all the wiring as well....or you will certianly find yourself with ONE HOT P-5....and not from its looks....but from the electrical fire under the hood. HID units draw a serious amount of current compared to your stock system...and your wiring will melt. you can even have this happen if you put in too high of a wattage bulb with no wiring upgrade.....do your homework....make sure you have all the answers before you make this kind of change.

Wink

It was my understanding that HID's will draw less amount of amperage, I can turn mine on with a 10 amp transformer (for display purposes).

In case you want a set you will need the H7, make shure you get one with blue hue, for that Honda S2000 look

OMG!! sorry guys.....I had a bad case of Cranial Anial Insertus there for a second, and YES MC Daddy...you are 100% correct...the HID units DO in fact draw less current......I had someone yappin in my ear when I was writing that and got off track...actually left out a whole train of thought...lol

its when you ATTEMPT to get that HID look by using HIGH powered colored lights that you can and will end up burning up your wireing harness if you do not upgrade it...

once again...sorry for the transgression.

The link is a pic of our 2000 Accord Headlights with the 7000K HID kit. That's the actual color with the headlights on for over 15 mins.

Our 7000K kit are designed not to blind on coming traffic. The light is very nice soft blue hue.
