Hood style...any ideas?
This is a picture of my actual ride....but with the hood and the line at the side edited in Photoshop (paintings in black and simulated suspension drop). Im looking for ideas, suggestions or any comments about general exterior styling.
Most of my friends do not like the side painting, but say the hood will be ok....

I think it looks okay. How about changing it to a different shade of red? That way it is different. No too crazy about the hood.
I think we P5 folks don't have enough to differentiate between us so what you are doing sure does that. I am planning on putting stripes on my P5 to make it a bit different than all the others.

I think it looks good... from that angle.
But you gotta consider what the car would look like if you could see the sides, but not the hood... like from the back corner or something. Do a quick test... reach up with you right hand and place it over the hood in the picture (with your index finder along the body line between hood and side).
I do that, and I suddenly don't like the side look. The stripe seems to drop down out of nowhere. But I think you could salvage the design by making it curve up to the hood, or by decreasing the angle a little bit.
This is going to be hard to describe but... this is what I'd do...
I'd modify the angle so that the inside portion (the angled part closest to your review mirror) stretched from the door crease to the corner where the hood meats the window. Effectively this would decrease the angle of the cut.
Another way to think of it. If you put an imaginary line down the center of the window frame (frame between front and side window), the bottom of the line should be perpindicular with the top edge of the stripe.
Jesus... now I know why they say a picture is worth a thousand words!
Regarding the hood... the hood looks good like that... I've seen a yellow Protege sedan with a black hood just like that... looks great.
