instrument cluster buzzer

instrument cluster buzzer
Do I have to modify my cluster so it will produce a buzzer sound when in ignition mode, meaning the warning lights are on / ready to start the engine? As of now, my vehicle will produce some beep sounds when the door is opened and key inserted, what I like to happen is, when in ignition mode (all warning lights on), it will produce some tong ---- tong ----- tong sound. I believe most luxury cars have this.
What do I need to modify to have that?

well, i have absolutely no idea why you'd want this, but, if thats what you want, then thats what you want. More power to you.
The thing is, that when the key is at the ignition position (when all warning lights are on) it is the SAME position as when it is after it's started...make sense? you turn it to start it and the key comes right back to ignition....BUT, there is a way, a few infact. Although i'd have to really think about it (not my strong suit on a Friday night with, lets just say i've had a few) but a few things come to mind, using the Key Sense wire at the ignition switch, which color it is, i have no idea, would need to poke around. Then figure out why the warning lights only come on before start and not after...which would probably bring me back to the key sense wire...
Using the key sense wire, it would simply flip a relay which would be connected to a small piezo buzzer, the sound of which to be your choice. The relay wiring would differ slightly depending on the polarity of the key sense wire.
Once you've figured out how the key sense wire works, post again and we can go from there. Removing the plastic collum covers will expose all the wiring you need, the key sense wire will be at the back of the ignition switch itself running down the collum. There are a couple looms, so thats why i suggest going staright to the source to test and then follow the wire to an easy connection location.
