interior storage/ armrest

I went and test drove a p5 a couple of days ago and was a little concerned with the size of the armrest and the amount of interior storage for coins, paper, cellphone ect ect. How do you find your car works for you? Thanks in advance.

It's kinda small. But it will fit about a dozen jewel cases for CDs. The glovebox is cavernous though and there's a great little cubby by the driver's left knee for a cell phone.

Here are my thoughts:

The glovebox rocks (compared to the little shelf with a door my Altima had)

The center console storage box/armrest could stand to be a bit bigger, but I'd be worried if it were bigger it might intefear with shifting

The door pockets are nice

The little slot/nook in front of the cupholders below the HVAC controls ROCKS! Perfect spot to put my wallet when driving (I can't sit on my wallet when driving...my leg falls asleep)

The cup holders are decent. Seems to hold everything I've tried to hold in there just fine.

I don't like keeping coins in my cars anymore because they are LOUD...I like a nice rattle free interior, so for me the interior has plenty of space to hold stuff.

i never have money on me especially coins, they are anoying and rattle when i am playing music, the center arm rest i use for storing my face plate case, remote, zippo (i don't smoke but i use a zippo for soldering, and other useful things lol), jewel case. i have a cubby hole underneath my deck (aftermarket) i can fit 3 jewel cases there. i don't usually use jewel cases since i have a 128CD & 48CD cases in my car, i think i'll need another 128 case since both of them are overfilled. d00r pockets i have napkins since i hate it when people make a mess in my car. glove box, i have fuses, car manuel, bandages+tape. my cell phone goes right behind the window control on the arm rest (my phone is a Nokia 3360) it fits just right in the hole. sometimes i use the ash tray as my remote control holder for my HU, fits perfect and never moves around but i have to throw it in the center console when i park so theives don't get tempted.

My favourite little 'secret' spots are the little slot right by the driver's left armrest that my three pairs of keys fit in nicely, and also the spot by the driver's left knee where my condoms, weedsack and Tic Tacs go

Talking

I had the same concern when I testdrove my P5,
but the glovebox is cavernous and the armrests
are better than I thought they'd be. Everytime I
drive my dad's 2002 Subsaru Impreza, or compare them to my old Saturn's armrests, I thank God
for my Mazda armrests.

And has anybody else realized that there is a little clip on the underside of the lid of the center armrest to hold all your important stuff like registration and insurance card? Not a bad little feature.

I find the door pockets can hold a TON of crap. They're very large (although not deep) and I seem to fit a lot of stuff in there.

pr5owner - how do you fit your faceplate case in the center armrest storage? I don't think my faceplate fits in there, case or not. Hmm..... Guess that's why I usually chuck it in the door pocket.

I use the change holder frequently, and the pocket under it is perfect for a pack of smokes and lighter. I'd put my garage door opener in there, if I only had a garage.

I discovered it the other day when I was trying to find a good spot for my radio remote. It was a nice surprise.
