Just got windows tinted. . have some questions

I just got my windows tinted yesterday and I wanted to know if anything is normal the 1st week. Like there are maybe a few bubbles not a LOT but maybe small by the corners, spaces by the heat lines on the rear window, and if u look closely u can see the streaks when the tint was put on, is that gunna disappear or is that normal. thanks for the help.

That will go away... give it a few weeks... if nothing's changed, take it back and ask them to fix it... but from what you've described, that's totally normal!!

Some bubbling is normal. As your tint dries on to the window, the bubbles will disipate <spelling>. Just make sure you don't down the windows sunroof (if you have one) and do not use rear defrost for the given time that they tell you. I also waited a couple of weeks longer just to make sure that the tint was fully dried. You did the right thing getting it done in the hotter months of the year. The last tint job I had didn't look as good as the first because it was done in the winter months. It also took longer to dry in the winter time. This is the longest I have owned a vehicle and didn't have it tinted right away. Maybe I will get enough money to do it one day.

When I got my past three cars tinted, I was told not to wash the windows for at least three weeks.

Not wash your car for three weeks? That's strange figuring the tint is on the inside...

Hey MadeInJapan,

I should have said the inside of the windows, but i thought that people would realize that due to the tint being put on the inside,
that they should not wash that.

When I got my past three cars tinted, I was told not to wash the windows for at least three weeks.
thanks.....

Yeah. Make sure you dont use normal windex on the inside too. That is what will turn it all purple. If you go to home depot or something you can get green windex that doesnt have the ammonia in it. That is ok to use.

You cant usee any normal windex. The pink or blue stuff that is always around because they contain ammonia D. There is a green kind that you can get from home depot type places that has viniger instead of ammonia D and that is safe to use.

I dont know about the rear defrosters. They didnt say anything to me about them, but I dont know.

Rear defrost will cause bubbles to form along the strips and is not covered under most tinters warranty. Also, I just used water on my tint. Windex has ammonia and will turn the black tint to a purple color. Ever see some old car with purple tint? The idiot in the car probably used windex to clean. I would stick with water and a little bit of elbow grease. No chemicals that could cause your tint to change color and such.

So rear defroster is good to use after a couple of weeks? or is it not good to use at all? Also, another question, I still see streaks from when the tint was applied, that should be going away right?
