That's the HU I have in my 323, I love it. I've been thinking about getting another one for my protege, the HU I have in there sucks pretty hard. It's an excellent deck, I was suprised how well the MP3 play was.

Thanks for the heads up, just read on the subject and your absolutly right. always heard more power the better to little power is bad, now I understand the theory on that. Clipping is what will usualy cause distortion and that can happen at possably any volume level, and clipping is what usualy is responsable for speaker damage.

Thanks.

if you haven't used them before, you will be highly pleased with pioneer, haven't had a single problem with mine, even with the pounding bass i send through my subs every so often when i feel like a back massage. hint to you, get some infinity or boston acoustic components in the front and rears, you'll be pleasantly surprised.... either that or 3 way coax'es might do you just fine. stock speakers don't do ANY stereo justice

Headunit choice is always a question of features and taste, but I would have to admit I have really liked Premier/Pioneer hardware in the last four years or so. Very reliable, well built, not prone to skipping, and good features for the money. The tone controls of the 9400 are fantastic, you will have the ability to tune your sound to exactly how you like it.
Let us all know what you discover about it that you like and don't like! Helps everyone else here when we decide on suff!!

I have to agree, the Pioneer line has been great IMO in the past few years. I went through a few headunits before I chose this one that I have, and I love it. I was thinking about upgrading to a MP3 player soon, and when I do, it will definitely be Pioneer.

The new Pioneers are crazy. The MP3 playback starts on the 4500 in the new series. That's a Pioneer MP3 player for a little over $200. I'm going to be ordering the 5500 next week.

Also my last 3 (going on 4) decks have been Pioneers, never a problem out of any of them.

KpaBap- nice Mandelbrot like effect on the signature design!!
Premier and Pioneer continue to surprise with the quality they provide at the price points they sell out. One of the best things is that they unlike many manufacturers don't handicap the distribution channels to high bottom line prices. One of the few examples to me of distribution done better, none is "right" but this is better.
Elicpse for example will just about gang rape folks for selling below a set floor price that is shockingly close to MSRP.
