lcd screen help
well here i go. I am planning to buy an lcd screen in dash and right now what i am looking at is the clarion vrx815(7" screen cd player, touchscreen, etc)and the clarion vs715(dvd player). Do you guys have any suggestions on any other companies that may be more worthwhile spending my money on? i want to run the cd player and dvd player seprate because i want the dvd lens to last as long as possible. If you guys have any comments it would really help out.
Also, i am really stuck between either getting diamond audio or mb quarts for the inside, any opinions? Sorry for making it so long but you guys seem to have the most input on things like this
thanks a lot

Pioneer makes great DVD players, Im not sure about car dvd players tho. I went through 4 dvd players before I decided to keep the Pioneer that I have now. It seem like Pioneer car dvd players are one of the best, check them out.

for lcd's and stuff, take a look at icon-tv. they have awesome screens (don't lose visability at sharp angles). and sony makes (imo) the baddest indash screen on the market.
clarion has good stuff, but a problem that came up with a combo screen (cd/screen) is that when the cd is playing, the screen remains out and on, without any visual effects, making it look kinda weird. but clarion may have worked out that problem, don't know tho.
what i'd suggest is running your normal hu upfront for your cd's, an indash either above or below that, and a (6-10 disc) dvd changer in the back. most mainstream indash dvd players won't play cdr's or dvd-r's so you might wanna check on that b4 you spend the money.
hope that helps!

most changers will play nearly all media formats (alpine, eclipse etc), but single disc players only a few will play dvdr, cdr. as far as i know, icon-tv will do just that. but i can't say for other brands as i have not tested them. but the good thing is that there are only a few manufaturers of multimedia stuff, and icon-tv is one of the big dogs.
best thing to do is ask the seller/store to see what the player is capapble of.
