Leased car and system info

hey guys, this is my first post. did a search on this and didn't find anything so sorry if this has been asked before.

basically i have a leased protege 2002 ES and i want to put in a system. the lease agreement says that anything put into the car must be approved by the dealer plus it says that anything put into the car becomes their property. i don't think im keeping the car once the lease is over so basically i wanna put in a system and then take it out when im returning the car and put back the stock stuff. i mean if i have to take the car in for service or something is this something they look for or would they not care as long as i put the stock system back in when i return the car?

i'll probably end up replacing the whole thing, new hu, speakers, subs, amp, etc. would it be a big pain in the *** to replace everything at the end, or would they not even know that it was there?

thanks for any help.

I have leased quite a few cars. If you instell a system, try not to do too much altering of the vehicle. When you are ready to sell it/return it/or trade it, just remove everything and replace the stock pieces. Basically the lease company just wants to make sure that you have not detracted from the value of the car in any way. The dealership should not even care. That really is none of their business once you leave after signing the papers. Everything would be between you and the leasing company. I have never had a problem with trading leases. If you sell the car outright, you might even be able to make some money.

I say, go for it!

hahhhha

mazda can suck a big one if they think my system is theirs because its in my leased proto.

i have an alarm, deck, replaced all the door and rear speakers, tweets, amp and subs. the guys at the dealer make comments about the "speakers" as a joke, but thats it.

they definetly don't care...

just don't cutt any holes, and its all good.

Keep all the old stock stuff, the headunit, the speakers. It will need to go back in at the end of the lease, and keeping it in "new" shape will help make sure you aren't nuked on End of Lease fees. Don't go punching any holes in metal anywhere, and don't trash the stock wiring. Be careful about any wiring splicing into the standard original electrial system.
But it can be done in such a way to get you better tunes, and not tear the warrenty or the lease agreement to shreds.
At one point years ago a local shop here advertised special skills in lease installs for "landmen" oil property right specialist who spend most of thier time driving to distant county seats to look at records. While the oil business here was good that shop made a fortune. Time are a little more slim on oil now, but a lot more everyday people are now leasing cars, so a good shop should be able to help you out with a quick consultation.

and depending on what i buy next i might want a custom box built...

Good Luck! What part of the county are you in Dre? I would suggest the internet, and E-Bay, then find a good local shop to help with the install. You will get the best prices there generally.

im located in jersey. i've already started looking actually, hehe. i guess it would be smart to start with upgrading the hu and internal speakers and then adding an amp with subs in the back. what im really looking for is bass, im probably about as much of a bass freak as they come (i listen to a lot of club music), so i'll need to do some research before i decide on what to do about a box.
