Leather shift boot made!
I've just made new real leather shift boot for my P5 short throw shifter. Took about 30 minutes, given you have mother who is experienced with professional sowing machine.
It looks and feels better than MOMO rough piece of $50 junk I saw in the store earlier. I used piece which used to be leather skirt , so you know its SOFT
I'll post picture of it. if I get some interested replies I may consider selling them.

You can also try modifying a shift boot from another car, if you don't want to sew anything - I did this with another car - turned out great. I used the boot from a late 80s t-bird - got the leather for free from a junkyard, in real nice condition.
Some of the Fords had kinda long shifters, so those boots give you a lot of material to work with.
