Mazda Wiring Harness

Many people are asking questions about the availability of a wiring harness for the P5. As of yet I cannot find one (Canada). I have a solution that may help. Before I start with the description, you may want to view pics on my site:

www.astoflo.com/p5

Description:

If you look CLOSELY at the wiring harness white unit (this link has the pic:
http://www.astolfo.com/p5/p5install.asp?track=1&mode=6)
you will notice that there are small clips that can be used to pry the top part of the harness off. WHen you do this, the front face comes off exposing access to all the pins. After doing this, I was able to take all the wires from my head unit and wrap each around the corresponding Mazda harness wire (without removing any from the white harness unit). This is temporary until I get a proper harness. It has worked flawlessly for over 1 month now and NO WIRES WERE CUT. I could install the factor head unit in minutes. It all snaps back together. THe pic on the website does not offer a a good view of the clips as they are on the side (or top?)

Hope this helps.

Dave
