Question mirror painting

has anyone painted there mirror? if so how did you do it. I mean did you sand then paint or what? please help

exactly which mirror are you talking about? the rear view?

But what if, for example, I just wanted to paint the mirror cover, not the whole housing? Would I have to take the whole thing apart, or should I just mask tape it, and then paint it?

I want mine to look like the mirrors that come on the 02 pro. Should i juat buy the stock paint and then sand and spray 3-4 coats then clearcoat??

I know this might sound not smart, but do I go a dealer to order the painted front housing, or can I get it online somewhere?
