MP3 shift ****:Where to buy?

At over 110K miles, my 2002 DX's manual tranny shift **** is starting to look a bit beat up. Lots of surface scratches etc. Where can I get an MP3 (or reasonable facsimile thereof) shift ****? And will it fit my "long throw" (OEM) shifter? I know Sparco made them but I can't find it on their web site, at least not anything saying "MP3 Shift ****". Any help would be swell.

Last I heard the mp3/msp ***** won't fit stock shifters. Thread pattern is different. Contact Ken @ www.protegegarage.com about a custom shifter for your protege....Tell him I sent you.

You can buy a used MP3 Shifter, but chances are it's going to be more beat than yours considering it's a year older. It wont fit your stock shifter though. The MSP shifter and **** is available new from any mazda dealer, expect to pay a pretty penny for it. The mp3 shifter is a pretty simple design though, just 2 tone black and grey leather stiched ****. I have one on my car along with the shifter. Huge difference from stock. If you really want one, try msprotege.com and look for an MSP or MP3 owner that switched to a STS and you should get a good deal on a MP3 shifter and ****

The MP3 shift **** has an M8 x 1.25 thread while the P5/sedan shift **** has an M10 x 1.25 thread.
