Need Amp suggestions please!
Hi!
I have a 2002 Protege LX. I change the 4 speakers for; Front: Pioneer TS-D680R and Rear: Pioneer TS-D690R. My cd reciever is: Pioneer DEH-P3100. I'm not intersted in getting a Sub because I find that my speakers have a very good Bass sound. I'm thinking of getting an Amp to support my speakers only. Don't wanna spend a whole lot of $$$ but don't wanna cheap Amp either. I was wondering if it would be better if I got a Pioneer Amp since I have a pioneer cd receiver and speakers. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Thank You!

Wiring a Pioneer amp is no different than wiring a dozen others. They all work off the same types of inputs. I assume that you have RCA type outputs on your deck. Wiring it up is going to be cake.
Go to Crutchfield's website, and take a look at all of the amps that are out there. Shop around for something that gives you good RMS wattage; this is more meaningful than peak wattage. It sounds like for what you are after, you are not going to need a great deal of wattage. But if you want your speakers to last, I suggest buying more watts than you need, and adjusting the gain halfway or less for nice, clean output.

My bro has 2 volfenhag (sp?) 1000wt amps but he is pushing 3 Visonik 12s, me on the other hand i am running a 500wt sony xplod amp which i am sure would be good for normal speakers b/c this one can push 12s also, anyways I would reccomend a Sony Xplod amp they arent too cheap and not too xpensive and should work good...

personally i like the rockford amps. i have one so i guess im biased.. i think i got the 900w single channel for 200hun or a lil more. what is your pre amp out on your head unit?? if its 2 volts as compared to 4 volts your sound quality will be halfed when put through an amp.... if that makes sense to you.. i know what im talking about in my head, but i cant quite get it down on "paper" plus.. make sure u get a good wire package with a good fuse. thats all i can think of right now... hope it helped some
ps juddz is right in saying its best to get more power and tune it to the low side then to get less power and have your system cranked.. reason is, i think, is you get better sound quality that way cause your system is not turned up to the max
to all concerned... if im wrong about anything i said, plz correct me.. othewise i wont learn ne thing and ill keep tellin un-truths
