My friend used WD-40 when he took the decals off of his S-10. He said it worked real well!

They also make this stuff called "oops!" Its an all purpose remover. That stuff works pretty damn good too! Just remember to do a test area in a spot you can't see just to be safe.

Solution

Use Mother Paste Carnuba Cleaner wax. Just rub it in and it should come off.

Good Luck!

The hairdryer is a good idea. Heat is the key. Check the yellow pages for a sign-supply shop or an autobody supply house, and see if you can get some real adhesive remover. (3M makes some great stuff but I can't remember the part number anymore) It will go easier on the paint than Goo Gone or WD40. And let the stuff soak in before you start scraping at it.

Also, in the future, as you peel up the decal, stretch it. You'll leave less stuff behind.

well the thing that made it stick so long was that it was ont he car for 3 years. and it takes teh most abuse being at the bottom of the fender. so it was stuck on there and i heated it up for 10 mins b4 i took it off. so the **** is stuck on there. i will try the adice out, but again it is too cold to go and do it. so i will wait till alter tis week when it goes from low 40's to mid 70's
thanks for eveyones help

One word: Varsol. It's paint thinner, but will not hurt your paint. Just put some on a rag and rub away! Trust me, it won't hurt the finish.

What? I've used it all the time! Just dilute it in a little bit of water, and voila!
