Arrow Need Subwoofer Advice....

i am looking for a new 12" sub to go in a sealed box. want to spend about $100-150. i'll be running 200 watts RMS to it. just need a good tight sound. any recommendations? anyone know anything about FUSION's competition line subs?

Talk to Onehawaiin about fusion subs. He is a fan of them. What are you looking for, bass or SQ.

yeah..... i noticed he has the powerplant series in his p5. i am wondering about the competition series since i don't need nor will i be givin them a ton of power(just 200 W). i am mainly concerned with sound quality if that's what SQ is short for.

dunno too much about their encounter or competition line, but fusion's upper-end line (powerplant/jonah lomu) are very good. you can get the powerplant sub for $150 shipped. but if power is an issue, then i would recommend these subs for sq:

-alumapro (alchemy/alusonic)
-a/d/s
-infinity kappa (perfects wouldn't fall within your budget)
-kicker comp vr (decent enough sq)

i've seen these listed online for well below the retail, so you should be able to stay within budget. i would run a/d/s subs if you want sq tho.

Image Dynamics IDQ is in your price range, but i suggest saving up for the IDMAX or DEI's CompX. They all work well in small sealed boxes.

ooooh, dei. they make good subs. but yeah, i didn't know what the idq subs were listed at. i'm sure you can get them within budget and all, but honestly, if you want sq with only 200w, i say a/d/s. but then you're getting into audiophile territory if you want sq, which starts dipping into your wallet.

You could get a 10" infinity perfect in that price range. What kind of music do you listen to? Buyloud.com has it for $159. http://www.buyloud.com/product_detail.jsp?pid=711 check 'em out. My friend has one in his saturn and it sounds awesome and it takes up no room in his hatch.

well......... i did a little research. i already have a box and amp....... hence the 12", 200W requirement. but i read good things about a/d/s thanks to onehawaiian so i decided to get one of them. hard to find on the internet but buyloud.com had a 12" for 139.00. i'll let you guys know how i like it once it's in. thanks for all your help!

altho that particular model is good (a12s), i would run the 312rs.2, which is a bit more, but you should be able to find it around $150 or so. right now mmxpress has a sale, but only by the pair. but if you can, try to listen to the sub to see if that's what you want. there's guy on sounddomain (hummerguy) who is an a/d/s freak. you might wanna ask him how he likes the subs too.
