and of course you would need to find carpet that would match what is in the car...for the area UNDER your current rear bench seat is not carpeted.

I don't have the picture anymore, but there was a Protege5 that had racing seats in the front and back. It was yellow with a silver or black hood and they made the entire roof a moonroof. I love the idea of having racing seats in the front and back, especially in the Pro5.

If it is a sedan you will need to also make a rear seat backing that will fit right and keep the rear trunk space seperated from the cabin area. Rember that plastic and carpeted peice on the back window just snaps up there so getting it out should be no problem. Throw a peice of cardboard in their to get a measurement of the rear top seat or use it. Cut your wood or metal or what ever you are going to use and if you need to fill in space get some of that foam that you spray and seal up any holes you might have and then trim and either carpet paint or whatever you wanted to do to that part of the back. Make sure to use some really good Carpet or fabric glue and fold in all your corners. You could also go and get some vinyl from a upolstery shop and use it also the same way.

thank you very much, yeah it will be hard to do, i plan on taking out all the carpet and putting in my owen, and the backing would be part of a sub box design i have been working on, the backing would be plexie glass.

IMO it will be too much work and will cost you a lot..........I think that you can figure some other way in which to be different......
I am not saying that it'll look bad, but I don't think it'll be worth the money and time.......... not unless of course you don't care about how much you spend.........in that case ...........send some cash over man........
