Paint protection package worth the $$?

Hi everyone, I'm going to be purchasing a black Pro5 soon, and was wondering what people's thoughts are on the "pro pack" that the dealers try to add on (paint protection, undercoating, stain guard, etc). Mostly, I'm wondering what people think of the paint protection versus a regular old waxing. Since black cars tend to show minor scratches fairly easily, I'm trying to find a good way to minimize the ammount that show up. So, $$$ for a dealer protection package, or a regular waxing with a good quality car wax? What do you think? Thanks.....

not worth your money. I used Nu Shine (Orange bottle) from Canadian Tire. Works great. ($10 canadian) and you will have enough to wax it 3 to 4 times over the course of a year.

Those protection packages are mainly to pad the dealer's pocket. Don't buy into any of that stuff. BTW, there is already a layer of undercoating on the car. Hint: It's that black tar looking stuff. I agree with seb, just make sure you keep a coat of wax on your car. It's much better than the stuff that the dealer puts on. I know someone who never waxed their car because the dealer had put some kind of paint sealer on the car. Needless to say, his car looked like it had been sitting in the desert for about 20 years.

Paint protection: wax from CanTire - 10-20 bucks (CDN) for a bottle of wax. (accessories will cost a bit more)
Interior Stain guard: Scotchguard -$10 CDN
Underbody protection: already there, but you can get more from CanTire for like $5.00 CDN/bottle.
