So the body kit is being put on... and well that means its gonna hve to get painted.... now my car is the '96 Mazda Protege Factory Blueberry (bluish purple) color(it was my moms car before me) I really dont like the color all that much so im gonna get it painted.. so i went to the shop and they said 4500 for everything to get painted(door jams and everything) a different color... so do you guys think its worth it to paint it a diff or the factory color is ok and im just overexagerating.... also what about getting it painted the same color but having him put in a lil more blue and make it a bit darker and just paint the outside so its still close just a lil darker??

 

Just FYI - the Blue Book value on your car is only about $4,000.

And that is using my NY zip code for pricing purposes (higher) and private party sale (also higher). Meaning it's probably worth about $3000-$3500 if you sold it to someone tomorrow.

So if you want to dump $4500 into paint for a $4000 car, that's your prerogative.

Sounds like a HUGE waste to me - that's a lotta cheddah that could be better spent elsewhere (or NOT spent at all).

I agree, my outlook is never any one thing to a car if that one thing costs more than the car's worth.

 

i got my car at a low price so just about everything i buy cost more than my car haha
