Painting more than just the calipers

Okay I searched the board and did not find anyone else who did this so I figured I’d risk a flaming and ask. I’m getting ready to paint the calipers on my P5 and lots of info on this site. However, I was also thinking that the dust shield behind the disks may look good painted too. Has anyone seen if someone else did this already? Just wondering if it would be worth it to go to all the trouble.

I had read that someone had painted the rear dust cover a flat black to make the rear setup look like the front setup.

Actually I was thinking more along matching the caliper colour. The galvanized colour it is now was probably done so that it is not noticable. Black would be similar I guess.

BTW, I like the graphic in your SIG. Did you make that in Photoshop?

Cool! Believe it or not I was gonna do the same thing with mine but ran out of time yesterday.

However, I painted the calips yellow and I plan on doing the dust shield dark blue. Hopefully the blue I bought is pretty close to the body color!. It'll be so dark it'll practically look like it's not there, but when the vehicle is stopped and someone looks, they'll be able to see it.

Okay so I finally got the chance to paint my calipers and did the dust shield at the same time. It is now red like the calipers. I took pics but it was at night. I think it looks good and I will post pics later when it is light out. Certainly different looking and unique compared to all the other P5s out there. I also painted the centre cap of my rims a red colour.

Skyhawk-

Got my sig graphic from the Mazda Japan Familia website. Edited the Familia license plate off of the front, and that was it.. perfect size.. Might do some more with it later, but haven't had much time. Note that it's a RHD P5..

Thanks for the info TT. I should have noticed the RHD but I was dazzled by the Zoom-Zoom .
