I would but I can't find the manual but basicly the headunit is a single CD player with time correction and a optical output that hooks up the the DEQ-P9 which is a stereo, 31 band adjustable EQ and 4 way adjustable crossover. All of which is controlled by the single head unit. If I can get a good price on it then I am in otherwise I will go with the Alpine CDA9815 and the audio control DQX.

Jeeeeeeeezzzzussssss, man.

Someone LOVES JL, huh?

J/K man - I can respect that!

Helluva system you've got planned out there. My only concern would be the "ambient" tweeters and coaxes in the rear. We all know how that stuff pulls the soundstage rearward, and I'm sure you'll be working very hard on stage and imaging with the kicks and all - it'd be a shame to see that "ruined" by rear fill.

I really like the setup, though - personally, the only mod I would consider is some method of fading the rear fill out some, or out completely. Just in case .

I will be using midbass drivers in the rear doors of the P5 soon - Peerless. While this, too, can pull the stage back, I should have the up-front midrange/tweet power to yank it front and center where it belongs. And since I'm going to use stock locations, staging is not my top priority anyway - if it was, I'd be doing kicks. You never know, though - with my recent fiberglass adventures, anything seems possible.......

And on a side note - I have both amps removed from my car right now - so all I have is a shitty pair of Kenwood coax in the rear doors run from the HU. I was REALLY impressed with the bass/midbass output from the rear doors - even with the crappy equipment! I can't WAIT to hear the Peerless pump from there with about 125 watts or so per side . Maybe it's something about the rear doors of this car - but there is definitely a stronger bass presence in the rear doors over the front. I used to have identical Kenny speaks up front, and the bass output wasn't anything like the rears. Interesting.

What is the expected cost of all this JL junk, anyway?

I am running the rears and ambiants off of seperate channels of amps just so that I can fade them i I wish with the amps gains independantly from the system.

I made a slight redo and I think I will do simply another set of JL XR525csi in the rear and use only the mid in the back and use that tweeter as the ambiant. No crossover will be used for that set unless the ambiants are not needed then I will simply keep the whole set in the rear and turned way down.

ON the all JL note, there subs are the best and other then teh Z series BA there speakers sound the best of what we at tweeter carry. The amps are a no brainer as no other amp line we carry can match JLs. Maybe alpine but I would have to run 2 seperate sub amps, not really possible when using 3 subs and there discount is terrible.

With all that weight you might as well run W7's. They'll probably sound better and trust me, you ain't gettin any faster with what you already plan on having in there. Looks like a good setup to me.

The 2 10W7s will almost out weight the 3 10W6s plus the W7s need to be in an all 1" MDF or thicker box. 1.5 is reccommened for the baffle!
But your right it will be heavy which is why I have the turbo.

I mean in no way to discourage you, but with all that added weight I don't think even a turbo would save you. It's somewhat of an unwritten rule that every 100 lbs extra you have gives you a tenth added to your 1/4 mile. If you're auto-x'ing with a huge system.. Well, then you're just crazy. The turbo puts you up to around what, 200whp? Maybe? I'm not really sure.. But I do know I had a system that was half the size of that one in my Celica GT-S, which is a lighter car overall, and it was putting about 190 to the ground. Unfortunately, 200 horsepower just isn't a lot. Now it could just be me because I once had a 400 horsepower Mustang, and stuff just doesn't seem quick compared to it. But I know that our cars couldn't really dream of seeing that without thousands and thousands of dollars of engine work. That's why I'm almost deciding not to get a turbo anytime soon for my P5. I realize it's slow and accept it for what it is: A nice looking car that handles good. Just means I need to have another project too (which is already in the plans, mwahaha).

If I were you I'd go with a pair of W7s in a removeable box. Then if you decide you wanna go race, just pull em out and you're all set. I know they take a bunch of air and they hit hard so they need a tough enclosure, but they sound awesome. Then again, I don't know if you want a wood or fiberglass enclosure, or what.

Anyways, the great thing about owning a car is it's all YOUR decision when the day is over. Keep us posted on how your setup is going.

I will never auto cross and probalby never drag either. I turbed the car mostly becuse i didn't know anything about them and I wanted to. Now I do. Not to mention the car can get out of its own way plus unlike the celica it has MORE torque then HP so it has sack. But like I mentioned I am not racing. My car is a toy nothing more.

I like the system ,i guess you will be competing in Pro class . This could generate some serious SPL .And still have good sound quality .
If you are doing that much ,why not go all out and put in a complete 5.1 surround system complete with vid screems and DVD player .
