Other than that, it's just OK. But I would definitely look into something else if i were to get a enclosure again.

im planning to get just one 10" or 12" polk momo sub perhaps 2 im not sure yet. size of sub depends on enclosure size in trunk. what would you suggest me to do, custom enclosure or a box, what kind of box should i use? also, about how much does it cost for a custom enclosure? and, are the boxes better when they have the clear plastic screen in front of it (bandpass i think it's called correct me if im wrong) ?? any info to clarify or help me on this is appreciated. thanks a lot

A single 10 or 12 box would be only $85 if I could build it out of my standard size to your desired volume with 3/4" MDF nails, glue, and silicone. $125 if it can't, they almost always can. It will be the same at most Tweeter locations and many shops, But most small shops just order boxes from people like Qlogix.

The big thing is finding a box with the right cubic space to match the speaker. Pre built boxes will get you close, but at least in SQ if you are after really good sound, a shop built box is what you need to make sure the measurments are "tuned in" to the speaker.
If you are going to drive it hard, or show if off either read up and build a box, or better find a decent shop and let a seasoned installer build you the box from h_ll. Even then see if you can help so you can learn about the process.
Anymore I have gotten into shaped and rounded dovetailing of the edges of subboxes, looks very cool, holds up well if not damaged and impresses folks who see it!- I purchased the hardwae to do dovetails easy on the table in the shop a few years ago, and figure I really need to get my investment back- so I use them on every box that comes out of my backyard.
I like MDF, dovetails, screws wood glue and epoxy, with vinyl, facbric, or carpet coverings. I have played with machine turned metal finishes some, they look very cool, but I think the jury is still out on how they hold up. Some of the boxes I have built with and for friend in the last two years will survive a car wreak better than the car! A good handbuilt is yet another point of pride for the serious of car fi.
Overall though, prebuilt boxes are a great thing for the vast majority of folks desiring to add a sub for much punch and are not looking to a car audio magazine photo shoot like install. They are many styles in variable sizes to fit most main stream mid fi subs. They provide an adaquate box that won't bust the budget, and once again help many to do the install themselves by getting over the hurdle of box building...
AND- Q-Forms is a sub of Stillwater Designs, and as a good Okie these days, I would encourage everyone to get a box from them!!
