Question bout P5 Stereo

Hi all, my friend has a question bout the P5 CD player (I would answer him but I don't pick up my new P5 till tom). What he wants to know is whether the deck will play CD-RWs and also whether the CD deck has a continue function (like continue playing where it left off before the car was shut off). Thanks for all the help!

Welcome to the board man!!

There is a section for stereo stuff, but what the hell I will answer you anyway. There is a continue function on the cd player. If you turn off the key with the it playing and restart the car it will continue right where you left off, although I think you have to turn it on again. As far as CD-RW's I think they work. I know CD-R's work but I can't remember for sure if rewritable's will play.

enjoy your car man

Just checked out the stereo section and someone mentioned that reading a CD-RW may be bad for the head unit, any truth to this? I would prefer to burn on CD-RW media if possible but if it does any damage to the head unit, I will just stick with CDRs. Thanks for any help you can provide!

I have played CD-RWs with no problem in the P5 stock CD player. I can't imagine how this could cause any damage to the unit....

I would think this post would get moved shortly but until then. I have been playing CDRs in my player since I got the car. No problems. I normally don't use CDRW since the CDRs are so cheap. Not worth the extra effort to worry about rerecording. As for continuous play, no problem either. I also switch between radio and Cd and it returns just where I left off. The only thing that bugs me is the random feature. If I press the next track button it goes to the next track and not a random track. Oh well.
