Just ask the young punks in my neighborhood!! They did a pretty clean job with mine and the three other Proteges on my street.

Sorry if I sound pissed!! What's wrong with today's kids....they find it fashionable to steal emblems and wear them on a chain around their necks.
Now my dilemma is what to put over the holes where the emblem used to be. If I bother replacing it I'm sure they will be back in a week for the new one.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

that's fashionable? haha. well, if you see one of them running around with your mazda symbol around their neck, just go after em and take it back... with authority. nah, i'm just kidding. if there's that much vandalism going on, why don't you invest in a camcorder and aim it at your ride each night. you can catch em on tape. :]

I don't know how to remove the Mazda emblems that leave holes... but if you're referring to the dealer emblems that are just adhesive, use a hair drier to heat up the sticker/adhesive, and use a razor blade (if you know how without scratching the paint) or just try to peel it off using your fingernail. Some places like home depot sell plastic razor blades for stuff like this, so you have the edge, but not the sharpness. Then, just use some goo gone to get rid of the leftover adhesive.

no no no...don't use ANY kind of sharp object....for sure you will have a BOO BOO and mess up the paint....IF you have a dealers badge that is just held on with double sided tape or whatever....remove it like this...

obtain a piece of monofillimint...fishing line....work it behind the dealers badge and hold on to both ends...work it back and forth like a saw along the adhesive....works like a champ and there is nothing to damage your paint.....then once its off you can use an adhesive remover of some sort to get rid of any left over residue. Goo-be-gone works wonders.

pansies, can't use a razor blade just kidding. i use em, because for some reason, i've learned how without damaging the paint. only messed up once, on my old pontiac, and thats because it had bumper stickers that look they had been baked on over the past 10 years. i shouldn't have suggested it, but i'm used to using them. do as mr Joe says. ;]

for the Mazda badge...and the Protege badge...yes there are nubs that go into the trunk and or rear hatch....there are little fasteners holding them on....pop them off...or just break the badges off....but YES you will have holes in your trunk lid or hatch.

You can get small rubber plugs to put in the holes. Also, I've seen small plugs with a chrome button in the center for emblem holes.
