Se-R system in the planning
Im currently planning on what system im going to put in my new Sentra SE-R, as it is going to be my project car, and im planning on leaving my p5 alone mostly.
So: as of now this is what i have deccided
Head unit: Blaupunkt San Jose MP41
Front Speakers: MB Quarts 3way Component Speakers
4 Way Amp: Possably, not sure if im going to amp them.
Rear speakers: Probably MB Quarts 3 way coaxles or something comparable
Sub: Either a treo or focal 10inch sub
Sub amp: probably a JL or something, not sure
make any recommendations you have, i want feed back, im going for purely sound quality and tonal range..... i dont want booming bass, just a sufficent amount.
also ill be doing this in sort of phases, the new deck and front speakers will be at the same time then the rest will come as the money does, as i have clarions in there already and should be fine for a while....
speaker sizes i have 6 and a halves all around.
also, installation of all of this will be done at a pro shop that is the only place id trust letting them install..... and they stock all the brands listed, as they will also give me a good discount. But im going to have them do some nice custom work on the door panels to install the components to make them look pretty, and aim them to sound sweet. plus well im at it im just going to let them do the head unit also. hell ill probably let them do the full system, not because im not capable of doing it (because i by far am), but because their work is superb, and i have seen their work numorous times. And they hold various records in the audio business.
but anyways, itll be sweet, ill keep everone updated periodicly, itll probably be the end of the year before its done.

1. Does not resume properly when playing MP3s (songs start over again when you turn off your car)
2. "Chirping" sounds
3. Overheating issues
But i also heard that Blau has a fix to 1&2 (maybe 3). You have to send the unit to them and they will send it back after upgrading the firmware.
Might want to find out more b4 buying (I'm doing some research on my own to see which MP3 deck has the least issues -- seems that all of them have their little quirks). If Blaupunkt really gets this fixed, I'm going to get it also

everything looks cherry, but i'd use blau's new los angeles mp3 hu. it's part of their skyline series and i think is this years flagship hu.
i'd like to hear treo someday. my friend says they are pretty good subs. is their sister company the one that makes batcaps? i might be wrong on that.
for the amp, i'd suggest autotek's mean machine class d amp, or maybe their stealth amps. jl is good too tho.
but so far it looks like a cherry system.

thanks for your input onehawaiian, can always count on good taste from you.
from the little ive heard of and about treo subs, they really seem tight, clear, and clean compared to even high end jl subs and the comparason. ill probably be buying their midrange (price wise) 10inch sub, which i believe runs 300-400 bucks. amp wise, i really dont want a jl, i kinda just put that down because i hadnt looked much at amps, autotek sounds good though, ill look in to their amps.
i was actually debating on the los angeles head unit, i just liked the san jose because it seemed cleaner and less complex. but a blau is a blau, and thats what i want! to stand out, have clean and clear audio, and superb control over that music

From what little I know about MB Quarts, you will definitely need to amp them because their efficiency ratings are quite low. This is common with high-end brand speakers. In fact, if you're really looking for SQ, bi-amp them (that is, amp the mids and tweets separately.)
That being said, think about which is more important: a new deck or new speakers. Then decide in which order to tackle your purchases.

lol, well if you have seen my stock deck in that se-r, you would agree it must go first! and SOOOOON! that tape deck is seroiusly a big pile. the stock speakers aint to bad, clarions already.
i plan to amp my speakers eventually, but itll be a bit later down the road. now bi-amping them im not to sure about....
