will the stock fake-*** vinyl shift boot still fit without a problem if i install a pacesetter short shifter on my third gen?

if not, what options do i have?

there should be NO reason why it won't....it will just be a bit more wrinkled up.

AND if you wanted to....you could remove it and shorten it so that it wouldn't be all wrinkled up....its not hard to remove at all....and once you pop off the "cup holder/shifter trim" piece....you can see how easy that would be. to remove it...just pop the cup holder door open....then put your hand in to the holes...and gently pull back and up....the whole thing just pops out. :{D
