I'm not sure if the mounting kit for the 2001 and the 2002 are different or not, but my boyfriend (1fatES) had to use the mounting kit from a Ford to put his after market cd player in his 2002. They still haven't came out with a kit for the 2002's I know that at least.

They did my car with a Ford Mounting kit, I think it's the one for the Focus, it comes with a pocket that goes under the stereo.

Check with Scosche they are supposed to be making a kit that will work. I don't know if they have released it yet or not

I don't like that cubbie hole **** at all. I had my sound shop make me a custom thing that just left a black panel. That way I can put some decals up on it and decorate the interior.

Is it necessary to have one of these? Cant you just get a pocket and your radio? or do u need like the pocket witch attactched upper din mount like in the pic?

Im under the impression, I can just get a pocket and my radio and dont need a mounting peice like the picture shown.

what you say is correct.....I don't have the kit like that. I like just my pocket better. I'll post some pics of the pocket later when I take em.

OK, I received my kit(and wiring harness) from Scosche last night and I installed it....I will try to get some pics of it later today. I would recommend getting this kit over a single pocket...It looks much better, and it also covers the gaps that the pocket doesn't. Check back later today.
