Stock P5 headlight observation 03vs. 03.5

So my friend's got a black 03, and I've got a laser blue 03.5 We were sitting in the garage bored the other day, and somehow got to noticing that his Low beams and fogs turn off when his highs are on. When my highs are on, my fogs cut off, but my low beams stay on. This I'm pretty pleased with as I've driven long distances at speed at night before, and discovered that any extra light you can throw down is good. Anyway, just an obeservation. I'm kinda curious what everyone else's does, though.

Additionally I've got a bit of a Q, has anyone put a lower wattage bulb in their cruise control and high beam indicator lights on the dash? I did this on my old honda, much easier on the eyes on long night drives. I'd assume it's not a huge ordeal, I'm just as always nervous about tearing into my new, stilll temp-lisenced car.

He has just the high beams (inner set) on? Something's fucked. All P5's should have both sets of lights on when the high beams are selected.

Wow, I'm sorry I was off

Okay, so we were certain taht his lows were shutting off, but it was at a different time, so we did both side by side the other night, and I guess they'r ethe same. My apologies, guys I really don't know what we were on. Of course I'd assime that staring at one's high-beams in the dark isn't exactly the best of ideas.

Since there is no cover over the high beam bulb, maybe you mistook the low beams for being off when they were only dimmer.

FWIW on all American P5's from what I can remember: If you turn the headlights ON and push the stock forward, both the low and high beam bulbs stay on. If you simply pull on the stock (like to flash someone about a super trooper you just passed) only the high beams come on...you need someone else to do it so you can see, or park in front of a big *** mirror...

First off, what's FWIW? Second, even if you simply flash the high beams, the lows still turn on with them.

Maybe it's different for the sedans (which use a single, dual filiment bulb.) But on the P5's that's how it works.

FWIW: For What It is Worth...

Also I stand corrected. I just went out and did it again and realized I have a blown left low beam bulb, and when I did it yesterday I didn't notice that part...I just remembered that the low beams definately stayed on when the stock was pushed forward...Sorry for the confusion...
