Stock Sterio....

Ok I keep hearing all these complaints over this, I see no problem with my sterio, 2001 LX, If ya crank it up its just fine, if ya leave it down with any sterio your going to not be able to hear it, sure its not the greatest sterio on earth but it dose its job for a stock sterio, ok I am finished

In my opinion, the stock sterEo is fine... It's a ~$22,000 CDN car, and for that I say it's alright!! The people complaining about the sterEo are the people who want pure bass but don't want to fork out the dough for something aftermarket.

The stock ster"E"o is fine.

But you are in the wrong forum to bring this up.

Personally I do not like the stock stereo that much anymore and will be coverting over the stock to either one of these 2 decks.

No, he'll be changing his deck secretly...

Or perhaps making his deck secret?

Get the bottom one(DEH-P940MP)! THe other is the DEH-P840MP. It is a superior HU. It may not have the fancy flip face like the other but if you want a better head unit go with it. It has 6V preouts instead of the 4V in the other. There are so many other features it has, however the $270 price difference may not be worth it.

Although, keep in mind, you may not need a HU as good as either of these if you don't intend to replace the speakers and run them off a good amplifier.

Enough of my typing. They are both awesome HUs!!!

You got me...doh...

I will be adding better speakers and amps later this year. May insurance is coming due pretty soon, so that will take a big chunk of my finances.

I use to have boston acoustic speakers with pioneer-DEH P6200 HU. Gave my parents the car with all the fixings when I bought my car last year.

The first Deck is DEH-P8400MP
The second Deck is DEH-P9400MP

I'm looking towards a Sony MP3 deck myself. It has a blue LCD, none of that organic EL fancy stuff or the motorized faceplate. But at $300 CAN, it's one of the cheapest MP3 HU you can get.

It's for my bro's Camry.

STAY AWAY FROM SONY HU...they are not reliable. Why don't you go for pioneer, kenwood, alpine, etc...but stay away from Sony...

Take a look at Pioneers new line of HUs. I got an MP3/WMA for $187 shipped. You can fid the 3500 for aroung $150 or so and it plays MP3.

I'm in the middle of adding new speakers and an amp. I'm keeping the stock head unit, I like the big buttons. It just wasnt enough with the windows down.

SEA_P5: do you have the 6disc changer?

Nope.

I rather add an aftermarket one. But that is going to have to wait until a month or 2.

ProJoe, you won't hear me complaining about the stock head unit...

I have the indash 6 disc changer....last fall I added an Alpine V-Power 5 Channel amp, upgraded all the door speakers and put a JLAudio 10W0 Powerwedge sub in the back....it rocks! and if the bad guys peek in the windows...all they see is that oh so unappealing stock headunit...
