Anyone have any experience with the JL 8W0 subs? I'm debating whether I should purchase a Rockford P2 or one of the JL 8W0's. I know the JL 8W3v2 is probably one of the best 8" subs on the market along with the 8W7, but I don't quite have that much money. So which do you guys think would sound better?

thats a tough choice....i just bought a pair of 12W3's off my friend, they're not hooked up yet, but my friend's car is on the verge of falling apart now cuz of all the bass.....
i cant even imagine what the W7 would do.....they peak at what? 500W for the 8"??
and 2000W for the 13".....
i'd probably go with the JL's. imo anyways.....

I settled with a JL 8W3v2 in the end cuz it fits in the stock MSP enclosure. I did JDM P5's little mod of mounting the MSP rack in the back of my hatch, and the JL sub is phenomenal in the enclosure.

JLs work well in small areas. I have a 10W0 and it's great in a small enclosure. It looks like you might be tight on space, so an 8" would be a good choice. The advantage of a 10" or 12" is that they'll hit lower more easily and do it well. It's one of those no replacement for displacement sort of things. Though I think an 8" would be completely fine.

I had an Infinity Basslink in my P5 for awhile and loved it. Built-in 200W digital amp, and it fits in the P5 like a glove.

Kind of a crappy pic, but you can see how well it fits in the hatch area.

Relatively speaking towards trends in car audio these days, the 10W0 is a mid-high Q driver. Not sure what 'small enclosure' is to you, but there are lots of drivers out there that will work in much smaller boxes than a 10W0.
The 8W3v2 is a good choice though, it's pretty low Q - lower than the 8W3v3 - and will work well in probably .3-.4cu/ft

yikes, .3 or .4 cubic feet is really small. that enclosure must just just just hold the speaker going only as deep as the magnet's depth. small enclosure, for me is about 1.4 cubic feet. i had it in an enclosure about 9" deep x 15" tall x 18" wide--those are approximate sizes, but close. on the JL thing, i wasn't meaning that only JLs work well in small areas and nobody else's subs do, i was just affirming from experience. that's all.
