Sunroof auto-open/auto-close

How would I go about doing this? I'm sick of holding down the button. I don't need it like the driver side because I never open the sunroof less than all the way.

I don't know that there is a way of having it open half way with one push of a button. I know it sucks. My exwife had a celica and you had to hold the button down and it would stop HALF WAY, then you would have to release the button and push it back in and hold for it to come ALL THE WAY open. I don't even use mine except to tilt on hot days. It came with the options on the car.

I know what you guys are talking about. I had a 91 Honda Accord LX before my 91 Protege LX (both with sunroofs). The Accord has that feature where the sunroof is one touch to fully open, but you have to hold the button to close it, and of course it had the tilt feature. So, maybe this could be achieved by copying or modifying the sunroof system.

I have an 02 Protege and an 03 Galant. Both have sunroofs. The Galant is one touch open and hold to close. It is a nice feature. I always open the sunroof fully when I use it.

I'm not sure it is possible to modify the Protege.

The half way open option seems, well, half a**ed.

it's actually quite simple. Insert a timer relay inline between the switch and motor. The timer should be set to about a half second longer than needed to open the sunroof. This will give you one touch but not, touch again to stop.

Another solution is a DEI 530T window automation module. It dosen't necessarily need an alarm to function, it can be triggered by the switch. This would be the easiest to install. It has both one touch and touch again to stop.
