Question Sunroof/Roof Rack Noise

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to reduce the incredible wind noise experienced when the sunroof is open in a P5? I have the roof rack and it seems as though it is the main culprit, but I hate to take the bar off.

I was wondering if a wind deflector helps - or does the fact that the roof rack bar is raised up a few inches prevent the deflector from helping? Also, looking at the roof rack bar, the front edge seems to have a few grooves in it while the back edge is pretty smooth - has anyone experimented with turning this bar around?

Any info will be most appreciated.

the deflector does indeed help with the wind noise, but in the end I opted to remove the crossbars when I am not using them (they go on and off easily enough).

Thanks, JJB.

I just did a search and found the whole wind noise thread. I guess I'll do that FIRST next time...
