anyone know why their "blue" headlights krypton gas bulbs are $3.99 EACH while in the store or elsewhere they are $20 or $30 a pair??? i could get new headlights for my girflriends car AND my car for the price of ONE bulb in the stores............?????
I'm thinking it's one of two things: 1. they really are "the same" but are not a brand name so are sold dirt cheap or 2. the quality really is dirt cheap.........

hmmmm...bulbs,
well, your second option is actually right
they don't last
I bought this piece of crap light from pepboys
a year ago
first of all, you didnt see **** with that thing
it had that shitty blue tint to it
and in a week, it decided to quit working
so I ended up spending $20 for nothing
I said, **** it and got the phillips brand
I got the "night vision", great brand, Had it for a year
until a weak ago, when, guess what, didn't feel like working, so the bulb burnt out
(however, I did most of my driving for the year in the night, school, work and hanging out), so I used it alot and you can see with that thing. it was bright
I now have the phillips "white vision", as good as the previous one, but with the white tint to it
love them, match my piaa fog lights color
but expect to set you back around $35 a pair
the piaa's bulbs set you back $70
basically, you get what you pay for

I highly reccommend the phillips white vision
they are a very visible and 'well worth' upgrade for lighting
for a nice price of around 35 bucks
however, if you have enough money, go for the piaa's
they from what i saw (in person in a friends car) and heard on the forum, are the ultimate best
but, for the everyday person dude in school, the phillips are a definite yes for an upgrade.
I love them, now i find any excuse to drive in the night
plus, you get free 2 bulbs which fit in the liscence plate bulbs at the back which are white too, so you have 'white bulbs' in both the back and front
hope that helped

The Philips VisionPlus bulbs I had in my car for a while worked very good. One side burnt out after a year and I'm too lazy to get new ones...so I put my old bulbs back in for now.
Another good kind to try are the Sylvania SilverStars... you can get them both at Powerbulbs.com

Do they suck more juice than the factory? Reason why I ask is that I have a slight dim if music is played loud do to the bass. I did get a biggery battery, 4 gauge groundkit, 1.5 farad stiffening cap, and used proper wiring throughout. I have not upgraded wire from battery to alternator do to mixed reasons on whether or not it works.

I have noticed that you have made several posts about your headlight dimming problem. I don't know if it would help, but you might consider trying a heavy duty headlight wiring harness.
You can find one at www.suvlights.com
With the harness installed, the stock headlight wiring system only serves to activate the headlight relays which are included with the kit. The headlights themselves are powered by 14 ga. wires running directly to the battery positive terminal thus insuring full voltage to the headlight bulbs.

MP3 Strut Tower Bar kit
Kartboy Shifter Bushings
Suvlights Heavy Duty Wiring Harness
Osram Silverstar H4 Bulbs
Red Line MT-90 Gear Oil (stick now moves like an eel in oil)
5Zigen FNO1R-C 16" Wheels
Yokohama AVS ES 100 205/45-16's
Modified OEM Air Intake
