Lightbulb Tinted Headlights

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if it was possible to tint a pair of 96' Protege headlights. If anyone knows anything, please feel free to reply a.s.a.p.
Thanks!

what part are you talking about tinting?

I can't imagine why ANYONE would want to tint the lenses....as it DECREASES your visibility at night......

BUT YES...you can do it...you just have to disassemble the headlight housiing...the put them back together..and ensure they are sealed very well afterwards.....or they will just fog up.

I just wanna tint the inside.
Like people do on the new P5's.
If I have fog lights, will it matter if I tint the headlights.
Will it still put off as much as light with the fog lights
on?

One you will loose some of your light it will be darker and harder to see. Second you will be pulled over and can be cited for it. Your call.

Contact info

If you guys are currious as to how he/she did it, you can email this person here , and also visit the website that feature that car. I also think this car is from Portugal, so those who know Portugese ask him how he did it. Here are some more pics of that car.

It is very simple to paint the headlight housing, which is what you are referring to ( I assume).

Take the headlight out of the car, take a heat gun to where the lens is sealed to the housing. Use a flat screw driver to pry apart the housings as you heat it. Once you get the lens off, you will want to take the housing apart (usually a couple of phillip screws). Next you will want to sand the chrome housing with 1000-2000 grit wet sand paper. Rough it up really good, and put a High temperature primer on it. Once that dries, use a high heat engine paint (black or whatever you like) and paint the housing. Once it dries, put it back together again, use some bonding agent (hondabond, clear silicon, etc..) to re-seal the housing. Let dry, put back on, looks tiiite!

Note: Your car will not reflect as much light at night, due to no mirror effect inside the housing, but it will look good.

The blue tinted lights are simply painted with some candy blue lacquer I think.

What about using that translucent black nightshade lens paint on top of the chrome back part? that would make it black but keep some of the reflectivity? is that a deceent idea?

Also why do just headlights and not the corner lamps also? it looks kinda weird having just the headlight done.
