Question Toolbox Sliding Around

Anyone figured out a good way to secure your toolbox from sliding around all over the trunk?

The OEM cargo nets are a pain in the butt because they completely block the entry opening.

depending on how big it is.....you could always try VELCO.

you can get a roll of it that is about 2 inches wide and 5 feet long and ADHESIVE backed at wal-mart, its back in the CRAFTS section. That may just do the trick.....

Get a cargo tray if you don't have one already. The rubberized/vinyl thing that sits on the floor of the trunk. Works great: http://community.webshots.com/photo/...34434671MDXbNJ

My toolbox is large, so it doesn't move much. But the cargo tray should help. Other than that - cool out on the turns when you've got **** in the back! My P5 doesn't get much of a workout unless I can empty it out.

I have one of those trunk organisers with pockets of various sizes and a grippy bottom so it won't slide. Works great for putting stuff into that would otherwise be rolling around back there.

Thanks for the tips guys.
Hihoslva, I can't see your sub in that photo. Did you hide it somewhere?

Nah - that was when I first got the cargo mat, and I hadn't put the sub back in yet.

I bought some anti-slip rubber type stuff from the Dollar Store (of all places...) and placed it underneath my sub since it's not anchored down. It used to slide all over the place and I began worrying about breaking it since some nicks and scrapes began appearing. Even with my crazy fast corner driving, it doesn't move around anymore.

That's what I was going to say. I bought a piece about 6' long. Nothing in my trunk moves at all. Can't beat the price either.

and I thought I was the only one using these rubber mat stuff in my trunk :-)

Yup, they work great and damn cheap too! The heavier the item is, the better it "sticks" to the trunk floor.

If I got **** in my trunk (beer) that I don't want flying around, I just carry some rope and tie the **** up.

Just curious, where do you anchor the rope? Have you installed some sort of a hitch?

There's a few things on the top of the trunk where the hinges are for the lid.
