Trim peice
#3
It won't break anything I don't think, but it might leave a nice dent in the softer plastic that surrounds the bezel. Also don't grab off too fast, as the air handling controls are attached.

It may be just really late or something but I recall reading "several" threads where this was discussed and everyone of them said that because the a/c and hazard button is attached to the trim piece that you have to unhook a few cables or something under the dash. I seriously don't think you want to just give it a good yank! Maybe I am wrong...dunno.
I noticed the suggestions given previously were from a '99 owner. Not sure if the '99 is the same as the '02. But I wold definitly do a search on the topic before ripping things out. Never done this myself otherwise I would give you better info than to just do a search.

Yeah i took it nice and easy to get the panel off, but i had a little trouble with the botton left corner, it didn't want to come lose.
and i didn't want to pull to hard in fear i might break the damn thing.
