tweeter locations on a 1st gen pro

hey all,

just wondering if anyone has installed separates up front in their 1st gen pros...

where did you put your tweeters?

where did you put your crossovers? the kickpanels have no room for em.

if anyone has any pics of his/her setup, i'd like to see em!

thanks

Try put the componets in cuctom kick pods ,I had a 92 with 5.25" and tweeter mounted in the kicks . The staging was excellent .
The pod will have to be custom made ,as well you have to move the fuse block up under the dash . to do this you will have to lengthen approx. 8 wires by 2 feet .

I went the easy way and put the tweeters on the plastic panel that covers the mirror mount. The speakers I used (Sony) don't have much in the way of a crossover, so no problems with finding a place to mount those.

Tweeters on the dash aimed at the dome light, depends what kind of tweeter 'socket' you have but I couldn't get proper aiming with it on the pillar or side mirror trim

nice install!

i messed around with locations for the tweets and i think i'll be going higher...at the top of the windshield pillar...

did you use a hole saw with the exact diameter as the pod inner diameter to cut the hole?

oh and BTW, does your windowcrank hit the side of your speaker mounting ring or the grill?? (i actually have a post in this section about that because my crank hits the speaker ring.) im rambling..blah.

keep in mind that for best the imaging and staging, the tweeters should be as close the the woofer(s) as possible....

no room in the kick panel...!!!??? there's plenty of room in the kick panel and up under the dash to mount the xovers. If you must mount them in the doors, put them in thick plastic bags and seal them with tape.

i did as David did and put mine on the corner mirror panel. But i have 3 way components up front. A 4" mid in the dash and a 6.5" woofer in the door.

Yeah my window crank hits the grille (they're not fastened on right now because of that) and I cant roll down my windows all the way because Cadence magnets are HUGE

Hole saw? I wouldn't touch my car with one of those

For that reason and maybe better imaging I'm going to be making fiberglass door pods for the component set and maybe some 6.5"-8" midbasses in kick panels...or, kicks for the comp set and a single 6.5" sub under the center dash somewhere.
