Tweets vs. Replace rear door factory speakers

Everything is factory except a mono amp and 2 JL8s. It sounds satisfactory in the front, but it sounds drowned in the back. I got a set of tweets for the rear and would probably place them anout 2-3" on from the top of the rear speaker. But then, I thought that I should just replace the rear speakers. I don't want to add a seperate amp for the speakers just yet.

So tweets or new 6.5"?

Thanks,
Jason

Go with the upgraded 6 1/2 first. This way, you don't have to drill any holes in your door panel.

I agree.. get a pair a good coaxiels, they will improve the sound quite a bit even without an amp.

If you're talking about the rear speakers, i've had the same experience. But I dunno why, but it still sounds like crap even though I've upgraded to aftermarket 6.5" coaxials. I get non-stereo sound, something you hear from AM radio.
