unbelievable

many people say that when they want a system they wanna get two 12's of some kind. i had two kickers at first, sold them. i decided that i jus wanted something that will sound good and not weigh down my back end as much. So i bought a kicker comp vr 10 and it surprised me from the day i hooked it up. it sounds alot more clear than 12's and they pound really hard. everywhere i go people ask me, is that really only one ten. i jus say this is one speaker, but i have 2 more on the way.

p.s. Slot ported boxes w/ large amounts make a world of difference

That's like BlueLEDz's one 10" putting out 146.7 dBs and him telling people there is only a single 10" subwoofer. I may get him to build me a box!

Were your two 12s that you had previously in a different box? That could be one reason. The other is the size amp you used could have been underpower for the two subs and perfect for one (which is the one you have now). Also, the compvr's are kickers finest round sub they have ever made. How old were the other two? Add those factors and whammo, you probably have more bass than you thought imagined coming from 1 10 inch sub. Just like BlueLEDz's sub. He has a Brahma sub which looks like some nuclear power plant placed in a 6th order box (a little bit of physics there), and he has people scratching their heads wondering how one 10 inch sub can sound so loud. I bet he could design a box that would really make it kick ***!

I just installed a 10" vr today. I have to agree with you, I don't even have the gain or bass boost up that much and It sounds lots better than my 2 12's ever did. (But then again they were sony's )

I have it in a sealed box right now and I do plan on building the ported box on their web site and will eventually get another one. Can't wait! I have been very impressed with it so far.

i'm currently enrolled in AA, but its not going very well. the members are great, but not very supportive.
dude, u didn't think this was a support group against buying car audio, did u?
we're supportive... when we suggest buying the newest hu on the market, it's because everyone needs at least two...

i need help...

on topic, yes, the slot-ported box will put out serious spl. altho, the trade off is still space. (sealed dual 12's, 3cuft -vs- ported single 10, 2.5cuft... LOL )
