Question Wait to wash after new paintjob??

I'm getting my car back from the shop this friday. Along with customizing a from lip to my JDM bumper, I decided to give my baby a new paint job (Porshe basalt black w/ blue pearl).

I've heard you're supposed to wait a week before washing the car. Is that true? Is it also harmful to drive in the rain for that week too?

Yes you should wait to give the paint time to cure and harden. If its cold where you are, wait longer. The cold air slows down the curring process

The paint will be fine. I work for a body shop and we wash almost every car after we paint them. The car does need time to cure, but washing it, or getting it wet, isn't going to hurt it (depending on how long the paint has been dry for). Don't go through automatic car washes tho. And don't use the brushes at the car washes, they will scratch up your paint.
