That piece of plastic is an exact replica texture and all. It isn't an ugly little add-on piece, it will look 100% stock.

And do you have any clue as to how much it costs to make these things? The mold and all?

Go find an alternative, I think the price is reasonable for the first batch. Or you could wait a few months for the price to drop and shipping not to be free.

Well said Ambient! Like I said before, the company making these parts is VERY serious when it comes to quality of the parts that they're slapping their names on. That's why it's taken so long for these to be ready for production. I've had atleast 5 or 6 different prototypes on my car for this pod alone! I couldn't tell the difference between some of them, but they told me they changed something (they're VERY meticulous ) Trust me, when this pod arrives and you take it out of its box, you'll be like, "Damn. That's a nice pod."

And then your friend comes over when you install it and put in an A/F ratio, boost, etc. gauge. your buddy will be like:

hehe... as for the A-Pillar, I'll find out when those will be done.

Who is making these? Do they have an 800 number or a secure server?

Yes, although grey is a special order color and would only be $10 extra. OR, you could get a white (blank) one and maybe paint it yourself? The blank ones are only $84.

If you'd like, you can fill out the order form with your shipping information, and how many of what color pod you want.. and leave your contact phone number and the best time to reach you in the "Special Instructions" box, and a Sales Rep will return your call within 24 hours for the rest of the information.

Like I said before guys, this is all pre-sale stuff that they're doing for us on the protege boards. They have a site that's being setup, but for now... if you want all these parts their making ahead of time, this is the way to go about it.

Thumbs up

I just received mine, pretty sweet. The reason other colors are extra is because this are made from abs plastic, and they got to be color matched. (MO)

If there's anyone who actually has the interior color in question, and is 'put off' by the special ordering of the product. Please let me know, and I will do whatever I can to help out.

Inimical_01ES, I have a 2000 ES with the lighter gray interior. I'm interested in the pod, but I also think it's strange that one stock color would be an additional charge compared to two other stock colors?

A-Pillar news?

Whatsup Inimical_01ES,

I been reading this thread for months its seems, haha. Its been a while since the Steering column pod came out. Im going to get my gauges really soon, and was considering mounting then under my aftermarket radio, but its gonna be a lot of work since i have to make a custom dash kit. Well to make a long story short, i wish i could just get that a-pillar pod replacement. Is there any news on when they will be completed? Also any price info and is it a 2 or 3 pod a pillar?? Any info would be great!

Jaime

Eric, because of your status on the board, let me know when you order one so I can pull your order, and make sure they charge you the same price as a black pod. "It's good to be the king!"

Thanks man! The turbo kit is done, we're just finishing up the R&D stage with some tuning, then it's on to mass production. The kits are anticipated to run about $2995 for the non-intercooled setup at about 7psi. This isn't a solid price, but when I get more info on it I'll post it here.

No, I haven't been to the track since I had the N2O on there... but we're making some adjustments to the car today and tomorrow, if it's running the way we want it to, we may be up there on Wednesday. If not, it'll definitely be at Tower Shops on Friday.

No clue on when those Pillars are going to be out... not any time soon I don't think. We've been focusing mostly on the Turbo kits lately, and a steering column pod for RX-7s. I beleive Mitch from Protege5 online is picking up a large order of the steering column pods, once that goes through then we'll see what happens. I'll talk to them about it today or tomorrow and see what's up with them.
