And that's why the turbo will have to wait.
It's not like I'm don't want to do it, but my car NEEDS some bodywork to win shows. I'll worry about winning races when I have more money.

I've flushed in (some call in frenching) the recessed liscence plate groove in the front bumper, so it needs paint. I'm getting a custom rear bumper made which will need paint. I'll be having the sideskirts molded onto the body and the side impact bumpers shaved off. My symbols will FINALLY be flushed (they did'nt do it last time cuz they were stupid). Also, MAYBE, I'll have the rear handles shaved. Also, I found 2 spots of rust (inside of passenger door and sunroof) I had'nt seen, so they'll be fixing those... And they'll go over the whole car with a fine toothed comb to see if there are any visible defects, bumps, dings, etc....

So pretty I'm pretty much going to empty my wallet on that...

This is what it might end up looking like:

I ran 15.9 last time out.

I figure once all this bodywork is done, I might install a ZEX kit.... Aim for low 14s. My neighbor works at a performance shop, so I can get one at close to cost price, so....

I'm keeping the car red.

The turbo is the next step.

I had a custom bakc bumper made 'cause with the front and sides of the kit, it was in hideous need of a rear.....

Here's the bumper before paint:

I'll post some of it on the car all painted next week.

I would have posted this in the original thread where no one would give me a break about the back bumper, but I can't find it....

where did you find the rear bumper, or is it all fiber glass and can not be reproduced.

but i think that you need to go with red. red is the best. After all this, is your bodywork finally done so that you can do some engine mods to your car.

hope to see pics when you get it back.

It is custom made of "flexiglass", a special urethane/fibergalss composite.

I'm getting it back this afternoon. I went to see it yesterday and there was so much clearcoat I'm giving it an extra day to dry... It looks like there's 6 inches deep of paint it's awesome!!!

It's on the car, but my Dad took the digicam to Vegas for 2 weeks, so the pics will have to wait.

The bodyshop I went to wasn't able to match my color because it was custom mixed and the guy never wrote the color combinations down, so it can't be matched. I went back to the guy that first mixed it and he matched it as close as possible, but it's not exactly the same.

What this means is I will be doing a color change afterall.

I love my car in red, but it's time for something different.

The color will be a charcoal/gunmetal metallic with gold pearl. Should look pretty crazy. It will be re-painted some time in june (I lose my car for a month ).

Anyways, I know I've chnaged my mind about 10 times throughout this post, but now the bodyshop will be paying for it if I go with this color, so the decision is being made for me in a way.

I'll show you all some pics as soon as possible.

Some day I'll get to turbo this puppy.....some day.........
