Who Makes a Real High End DIN EQ (Not 1/2 DIN)
I need a dash EQ to control sound *and* fill the hole under the HU...
I demand a real high s/n ratio (the clarion EQ is hissing like a mashed snake!) - parametric prefered. Spiffy displays not needed nor wanted...

Pioneer has some DIN EQs and with a Premier model, i think Kenwood has some also. Not sure on quality of if they qualify for "high end" (well, the Premier is Pioneers high end line, so i'd guess that one is high end)
DEI, also makes a nice, although a 1/2 din para eq, model 5500 IIRC. www.directed.com
Unbelievably, i have an old 1/2 din Sony (XEmkII) been going for like 10 years!!!! only problem is the little slider lights will go out on a like 2 of them when moved, but come right back on when i stop moving them....
for a true high end para eq, Audio Control is your best bet, but they are trunk mounted only.

A good deal of the hiss is gains, and gain matching between the amps and the eq. Also, the boost in certain frequencies will do it alone. I know the hissing sound you mean, but kenwood makes as decent a eq at their upper end as any other mid fi dealer out there. I prefer the Premier product, but it is more a brand preference than a performance issue between the two. Audio Control makes some of the nicest out there, but the good stuff in the industry won't fit in a dash....
