Question Wiring Harness/Dash Kit?

Are there any wiring harnesses made for Protege 5s yet for the head unit (plugs directly into factory wiring) or also a dash kit to fill up the space that the aftermarket head unit does not? If so, where can I get these items?

well first of all you really don't need a wireing harness, all you need is to solder some wires together because the clip can detach from the wires and you can solder the end of the wire comming in from your new HU and push it in the little square thing that came out of the plastic clip. (you will know what im talking about whenyou take off the plastic clip. And as for a cubby hole metra makes one, i got mine for a rip off price of 25 dollars canadian. (i got mine from visions) you will have to fashion an l shaped braket to keep the deck parrallel to the cubby hole

There are A FEW companies making wiring harness' for the 3rd gen and P5's. They should be in stores. Check your nearby Audio and/or Bestbuy or Circuit City. Dash Kit is about $20 and harness is around $6-$10.

P.S. No Soldering. You can really mess ur **** up and 2ndly. it can have bad connections and will give u interference with ur a.c when its running. do it the right way...not solderign

I think there are wiring harnesses out there, but I can't really remember. I do know, however, that this has been discussed before. Try a search, I bet you'll get some good info. It would be best to use a harness if there is one.

edit: dang, beat me to it....
