WIRING Question - PLEEZE help.
Ok, I'm going to be using the speaker level inputs on my amp to power a modest sub. The plan (seems logical) is to splice into the rear speaker wires for the signal. Here's the question:
The amp has a wiring harness to hook up to the speaker-level inputs. This includes + and - for each of the two inputs, plus a "signal ground" wire. This is my first time installing an amp using the speaker leads. This "signal ground" wire is causing me some confusion, as I haven't run into this before.
Can this wire be run to any metal ground, like the amp? Or does this signal ground wire need to be patched in to the head unit ground? Could this wire be grounded to the same location as the amp ground, effectively combining them?
Do I have any idea what the hell I'm talking about? Any advice as to what to do with this ground wire would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm won't install ANYTHING until I'm sure I know how to intsall EVERYTHING.
Thanks!

your getting very warm
you may need to play with finding the best (read: quietest) ground point, but in your case, using it for a sub, it should be fine _almost_ anywhere, but keep it short. I hope your amp has a lowpass crossover....
Now, this wire does not nesscessarily have to be grounded either...if it sounds clear and there's no noise or distortion, cap it off and leave it.
