Working with carbon fibre?!
How difficult is it to work with carbon fibre?
I have a friend who has access to the materials and I we're interested in make our own parts. We're not sure of the proper "how too's"!
Any advise would be great!!

CF is a bitch to work with. You need special resins since regular fiberglass resin turns brown. CF comes in a fabric sheet so take care not to seperate the weave. once you slap down alot of resin, let it dry then wet sand smooth--might have to reapply more resin..then have a body shop spray it with clear coat.

are you covering your current pieces or making new ones? If you just want to wrap your hood its not to bad. Making molds or forms can be a bitch. If you just want the look of Carbon fiber just have it wrapped.

I was thinking of making a mould using fibre glass and resins so that I could repeat the part a few times.
I know its a stretch.....but.... I was thinking about starting with a hood since its some what flat.
I was looking for the best of both worlds..light and looks.
Beside, the cost of all the materials shouldn't be much more than just buying one??! This way I could make 3 or 4 (depending on how good the mould is) and make a few bucks. *shrug*
