very impressive. How difficult was it to tap into the stock Nav wiring for this?

Rod,
Actually that's not the stock navi you see there. It's a Xenarc Touchscreen Monitor mounted to a Mazda Japan OEM nav mount that they sell to do just that.. mount your own monitor in there. Looks OEM though ;-)

The wireless controllers are 2.4 ghz, so it's just like your normal household wireless network, connects from any angle. I rarely use the controllers though for daily driving because it automatically plays music when i turn it on, which is its main purpose .... ton's of mp3's.

Thanks all for your comments!

thats awesome, i'll have to give that a shot. but, in the mean time, what i'm most interested at the moment though is your factory HU display. it has the mazda symbol and zoom~zoom!! Is that somewhere on the board? i'll have to search around for it. or is that not a mod and something that is just on earlier models that us later adoptors have missed out on.

lol, cool, thanks for the idea. i dont have the auto a/c so there is a huge blank space between the amb temp and the text. now i can get all custom on it, haha.

also on your xbmc, does it automatically turn on/off with the car? what are you using for power? just an inverter or one of those dc-dc power supplies like on a carpc. i was looking into the carpc route, but this seems much cheaper and more fun
